This is a direct hire, full-time opportunity and is 100% onsite in Evanston, Illinois.Our client is seeking an individual who will report directly to the Director of Scholarship Administration. This individual will be responsible for supporting the overall department and providing general administrative support to the corporation as a whole. This individual must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, solid communication skills (both oral and written), and be self-motivated, well-organized, and work well both independently and with others in teams. The training for this position will be on the job and provided by the Director and other staff who perform similar duties. This is essential due to the uniqueness of the corporation and its procedures. The ideal candidate should have at least two years of practical related work experience.What You'll doAssist with candidate application review and scholarship selection processReview and organize scholarship applications for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to eligibility requirementsFollow up on missing applications and other required documentation from students and high schoolsReview, update, and manage individual Scholar records (e.g. annual renewal, withdrawal, reinstatement, and other changes in award status)Write, monitor, and proof correspondence to students, parents, high school officials, and college/university administratorsAnswer telephone calls from high school students, scholarship recipients, parents, and high school/college/university officialsExtensive use of a customized database in addition to standard PC applicationsRecommend and help implement procedural improvements/efficienciesGeneral administrative duties; including filing, data input, word processing, proofing documents, etc.Various other duties as assigned by the department management teamWhat You'll NeedRequired:Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is a plusMust be very detail oriented, organized, and self-motivatedThe ideal candidate is a strong team player who has the ability to work independently, and with limited supervisionMust have excellent written and verbal communication skills in addition to refined and professional customer service skillsThorough knowledge and experience working with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat is requiredProfessional in demeanor and presentation; commitment to academic excellence; high energy; business-like communicator familiar with structured environments and deadlines; ability to effectively present ideas in detail; strong commitment to the highest ethical business practicesPreferred:Experience in an academic or business setting is desiredPhysical DemandsAbility to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standardsSedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitorMust be able to work onsite in Evanston, IllinoisOur client provides excellent benefits including a corporate-sponsored health care plan, Paid Time Off (PTO), flexible spending accounts (health care, dependent care, and transportation) and a very lucrative retirement plan.Reasonable accommodation statementIf you require a reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, completing any pre-employment testing, or otherwise participating in the employment selection process, please direct your inquiries to or (888) 824 – 8111.$40,000 - $46,000 per yearThe pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education.
