We’re looking for someone who is dedicated to ensuring that every project, no matter how simple or complex, is of exceptional quality. You'll be working directly with clients to make sure that Leidos' reputation for high-quality work is always maintained. Your greatest work is ahead!As a Senior Distribution Engineer, You can expect to:Lead the development of electrical distribution work packages; Perform engineering design and analysisReview engineering design packages with clients; Review and organize existing program workPerform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client prioritiesInteract directly with clients on a frequent, as-needed basisProvide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met.Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements; Assist with work permit development, easements, and ROW applicationsBe comfortable in both a field and office setting; the role will require a local presence in the customer territory for customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages, as well as associated team collaboration and customer-related meetingsBe responsible for QAQC tasks on your assigned team; You will play a role in quality reviews of your team's designs prior to submittals for client projectsIn the future, you can expect to play a role in the hiring process for the future of your teamWhat Sets You Apart (Background Requirements):8+ years of prior relevant experience is required. Relevant experience is either working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company performing design engineering for electric distribution. Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from an ABET accredited institution; additional relevant experience/certifications may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degreeExperience and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)Experience with engineering design quality controlFamiliarity with Pole Loading software (O-Calc, Pole Foreman, etc) and distribution pole analysisFrequent Customer-related travel is anticipated (Job-related travel will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates), so valid US Driver's License is requiredWillingness to perform both field and office work; Ability to work in outdoor environments on occasionPreferred Qualifications: Previous QAQC experienceExperience providing estimated costs, development of a BOM, calculating the CIACDemonstrated history of Customer InteractionProven experience and proficiency with STORMS software and GIS is preferredPrior Leadership experience is preferredProfessional Attributes that will help you succeed in this role:Strong communication skills, written and interpersonal communications skills and supporting of customer advocacyCollaborative and inclusive of individuals of diverse backgrounds and geographic locationsPositive attitudeAbility to work with limited supervisionProfessional dress and demeanorAttention to detail & Highly organizedExcellent time managementAt Leidos, we pride ourselves on being a trusted and technology-focused solutions provider.
