Description Senior Electrical Engineer Location: Chantilly VAClearance Required: Active TS/SCI with ability to pass a polygraph.We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-driven Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of electrical systems supporting critical facility operations at our HQS site. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all electrical infrastructure, while driving strategic improvements and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.As a technical authority, you will collaborate across operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions, guide capital projects, and uphold best practices in electrical design and maintenance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the research, design, detailing, and installation support of facility electrical systemsPartner with Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Plant teams to ensure robust emergency preparednessDrive preventive and corrective maintenance strategies for electrical systemsConduct infrastructure assessments and recommend capital improvements based on current and future needsOversee electrical components of construction and renovation projects from concept through completionDevelop and implement maintenance policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry best practicesCollaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure seamless service deliveryEstablish and refine design standards and site-specific operating proceduresCreate, review, and update electrical design documentation, submittals, and one-line diagramsPerform redline updates and maintain accurate site drawingsBasic QualificationsCurrent TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to pass a polygraph8–12 years of progressive experience in electrical engineeringBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplineProven expertise in complex electrical system design, development, and testingStrong background in power distribution, lighting, and control systemsDeep knowledge of commercial electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC)Proficiency in AutoCAD and other CAD toolsFamiliarity with energy-efficient and sustainable design principlesExperience with medium voltage systems, backup generators, UPS, data centers, and lighting controlsAbility to solve complex, cross-disciplinary technical challengesExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership and customersHands-on experience with industrial control systems, PLCs, and instrumentationPreferred QualificationsRecognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in electrical engineeringPE (Professional Engineer) certificationField experience in electrical construction, systems integration, and testingStrong project management skills including budgeting, scheduling, and resource planningExperience with reactive maintenance in building electrical systemsThis role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on mission-critical infrastructure while working alongside a team of dedicated professionals.
