(1st, 2nd, 3rd) Job PurposeThis position will be joining the Facilities department within Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC. The Facilities department is responsible for the building which includes new construction, remodels, utility management (electric, compressed air, natural gas, water), building maintenance, end of life equipment replacements and upgrades. The goal of the department is to create a facility that we are proud of and serve our customers.Role Description:Lead a shift of 3-5 Equipment Service Technicians to perform facilities equipment preventative maintenance, repairs, improvements, and reporting, to maintain a high level of customer service in building, equipment, and utility operations. Receive calls, direct manpower, prioritize equipment repairs, minimize downtime, communicate with Equipment Service Coordinator and other shift Equipment Service Team Leaders. Continuously develop associate skills through hands on training while introducing technologies and efficiency improvements. Key AccountabilitiesShift Team lead directing manpower, prioritizing repairs, communicating with management, receiving calls, assigning Maximo work orders to complete preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and building controls) to maintain production.  Ensure completed per work instructions and frequencyEvaluates and recommends equipment improvements to better availability, capability, and yield. Suggest and revise preventative maintenance to properly maintain facilities equipment. Establish/modify preventative maintenance for new equipment installationPerforms equipment failure analysis (including preventative and unscheduled maintenance). Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems. Attend plant daily SQP meetings or delegate as necessaryParticipate in a reliability centered maintenance program for equipment. Participate in team activities to develop and maintain long term equipment reliability. Support total equipment management through daily and proactive activities to improve operations, promoting business targets and objectives.  Lead team in participating in shift-to-shift meetings, communicating activity status as neededProvide mentorship and teambuilding through work habits, communication and the sharing of knowledge and expertise. Expand and maintain technical expertise through formal and on-the-job training opportunities. Support and engage in activities that drive new ideas, leveraging new technology, new methods and approaches to positively impact Honda's competitiveness Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Minimum Educational Qualifications:Completion of 2-year technical degree or equivalent equipment service experienceMinimum Experience:Desired: 5 years of experience in a Facilities environment (industrial, or heavy commercial)Will consider well qualified entry level candidatesOther Job-Specific Skills:Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment, such as Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Air Compressors, Air Dryers, Boilers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, Plumbing & PipingWorking knowledge of Facilities low and medium voltage electrical equipment (including substations, switches, cable, starters, variable-frequency drives, motor control center, breakers, bus duct) and Building Management SystemsAbility to troubleshoot electrical systems including control circuits up to medium voltage (4160 V) motors and contactorsGood written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly express ideasComply with Honda Health and Safety PoliciesMinimum computer (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Facilities related computer systems skills (i.e. Maximo, EcoStruxure Building Operation, Novar, Simplex, Siemens, Powerlogic, etc.Self-motivated, creative thinking, and a positive attitude, continuous improvement and customer service drivenMust use time effectively & prevent irrelevant issues or distractions from interfering with work completionDemonstrate the ability to plan/prioritize work assignments, submit schedules, set clear milestones & completion datesDemonstrate the ability to collect & analyze pertinent data, identify root cause, and develop effective countermeasures Working ConditionsHigh level of physical activity. Lots of walking, stairs, climbing, roof, hot/cold climate conditions.Participate in Honda related improvement activities such as Honda Improvement Program.Work area focused on interior and exterior facilities mechanical room and manufacturing floor environment.Infrequent - Occasional trips to other plants or suppliers (less than 1x per month).Ability to work effectively with production, equipment service associates and contractors.Actively pursue improvements or enhancements to facilities operations.Ability to prioritize work assignments with efficient time management.Willingness to work weekends, all shifts, overtime, and shutdowns as required.Complete necessary training for current role, document and diffuse knowledge transfer.Complete the required Equipment Service Technical Development Program consisting of approximately 700 hours of classwork and hands-on training over a 4-year period.
