Job Description:Position Summary:Courteously and professionally greets and seats all residents and their guests in the dining room, coordinates the activities of the food servers on schedule, maintains a neat and orderly dining room, and takes responsibility for guest checks (issuing/collecting/reviewing). Keeps current on all local and state codes about food preparation, sanitation, and storage, and food allergens. Informs culinary management of food needs and residents' likes and dislikes. Takes ownership of Resident satisfaction for service. Follows HSL Cultural Beliefs.Core Competencies:An individual must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain or demonstrate the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation using some other combination of skills and abilities.Working knowledge of all serving and busing functionsCommunicates clearly and respectfully with Residents, Staff, and ManagementCapable of effectively running all aspects of a shift from start to finish in any of the three dining roomsAbility to lead a diverse staff Knowledge of general Host/Hostess procedures: scheduling, sections, service, set up, and side workMaintain a genuine interest in geriatric care and follow HSL Cultural BeliefsPosition Responsibilities:Courteously and comfortably seat Residents and their guestsResponsible for guest check control and accuracy before sending them to the Finance DepartmentDelegates and inspects the side workManages dining room reservationsAssists during the shift with Serving and Bussing as neededHas a working knowledge of Resident dining tendencies, meal needs, and preferencesWorks with Front Desk and Marketing Staff on Hospitality Table and marketing guestsAssists with the training and orientation of new dining room personnelActs as a Supervisor in the absence of Management or SupervisorsAssumes additional responsibilities as needed to ensure the smooth running of the dining roomAccurately completes a nightly Host/Hostess ReportQualifications:Able to work flexible hours and days, including weekends and holidaysHigh School diploma necessaryMinimum of one year of experience as a Wait Staff and Bus Staff at Orchard Cove or in an upscale hotel or restaurantMaintain current ServSafe and Mass Food Allergen certificationAbility to pass a CORI background check and physical exam, including TB testAbility to communicate clearly and concisely in verbal or written formWorking Conditions and Physical Demands:Ability to stand for long periods of time and to walk short distancesFrequent stooping, reaching, and liftingWorks in a clean, well-lit, and ventilated environmentPossible work hazards include: cuts, burns, slips, and fallsFollow uniform policy and good personal hygiene4 pm-8 pm Wednesday, 4 pm-8 pm Friday, and 10 am-8 pm SaturdayRemote TypeSalary Range:$43,933.00 - $61,506.00
