Job Description:Position Summary:Demonstrate a strong commitment to the philosophy and goals of the mission of Hebrew Senior Life and recognize resident/patient dignity and choice in aspects of daily life. Work with the team to meet all the needs of the members of New Bridge. Strive to make every encounter with a resident/patient a positive and meaningful experience and opportunity, while providing safe and efficient quality of care.Position Responsibilities:Supervise service staff and meal service in all Restaurants and Retail areas, including Traditional Assisted Living, Memory Support Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Retail to ensure prompt and courteous service, quality presentation, and that all foods are prepared to residents' liking and satisfaction.  Also, ensure that portion control is utilized for cost effectiveness.Coordinate seating for residents and their guests at all meals, including setup and supervision for holidays, functions, and special programs.Work closely with the Executive Director, Director of Restaurants, Food and Beverage Director, Executive Chef, Restaurant Managers, line cooks, and staff, in regard to customer service, service procedures and standards, menu items and products, and equipment used in the dining rooms.Comply with proper storage procedures of all food items (Serve Safe Certified preferred)Perform the day-to-day operations of the department, including but not limited to employee scheduling, ordering, interdepartmental communication with Marketing and the Food and Beverage teams, as well as frequent correspondence with clients regarding banquets and events.Works directly with Restaurant and Retail Managers to provide a quality dining experience for Residents, Employees, and guests.Familiarizes newly hired employees with the practices of the retail outlets  and oversees trainingExecutes and manages compliance of procedural manuals for all retail kitchen and food operationsResponsible for compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements relative to operation, equipment, training, certification for the NewBridge facility and team.Supervises restaurant and retail employees to ensure that sanitation and safety guidelines and merchandising standards are followed.Participation in industry-related meetings and organizationsCore CompetenciesDemonstrate a positive, courteous, and supportive attitude toward visitors, residents, and staff.  Display patience and tact when dealing with all NewBridge personnel.  Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.Contribute to the efficient and productive operation of the department.  Accept assignments readily and complete them with minimal assistance and total follow-up. Exercise initiative, seeking additional tasks and projects from the supervisor. Recognize problems independently and work toward improving systems and procedures. Communicate with the supervisor about any problems relating to missing or defective equipment.Provide exceptional customer serviceMotivate staff by exhibiting and setting an example of high standards.Demonstrate leadership and knowledge by utilizing a hands-on approach.Maintain professional appearance at all times, clean and well-groomed in accordance with company standardsQualifications:2 or more years in a supervisory role, within a Restaurant/healthcare environment preferredExperience in contract foodservice, fine dining setting, or restaurant with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control preferred.Possess or have the ability to possess any required certifications, such as ServSafe®Knowledge of Kosher food and the workings of a kosher kitchen is a plus.Experienced with the food requisition process to assure food utilization and costingProficiency in the use of general and discipline-specific computer software and systems, including MS OfficeGood knowledge of quick serve operations, counter service, and retail operations.Detail orientedExceptional organization skillsAbility to be flexibleAbility to multitaskPhysical Requirements/Environmental ConditionsStands and walks short/long distances. Stoops, reaches, and lifts equipment and food. Remote TypeSalary Range:$43,933.00 - $61,506.00
