Software Developer I

We are looking for an entry-level to mid-level Full-stack Software Developer to work as part of an agile team responsible for the full software life cycle, from concept to deployment to maintenance for a multitude of corporate enterprise tools serving 200K end users. This position requires on-site presence one day per week. Must live within commutable distance of Dahlgren, VA. Travel: None Clearance: An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance. Requirements: United States CitizenshipAbility to be granted DoD ClearanceUnderstanding of and experience with Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQLExcellent communication and team skills including not being afraid to ask questions, sharing status of work, and sending respectful emailsHigh level of initiative and self-motivationInterest in learning new skills and toolsAbility to work to goals and timelines established by scrum teamResume should include detailed information about projects during college and/or related paid/unpaid work during college yearsMinimum 1 day/per week required on site.Must live within commutable distance to Dahlgren, VA  Responsibilities: Utilize skills to learn, understand and develop a wide array of corporate business tools that use an legacy and modern technologies in unique waysWorking with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutionsBuilding the front-end of applications with an eye for appealing visual designTesting software to ensure responsiveness and efficiencyTroubleshoot and resolve issues with existing applicationsOccasionally represent the team at customer meetingsParticipate in daily and weekly scrum activitiesProvide assistance to teammates and customers alikeProvide end user assistance and outreach Preferred Skills and Experience: Degree in Computer Science or relevant fieldExperience with Agile methodologiesA passion for modern UI/UX designExperience with multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)Experience with multiple back-end languages (e.g. Java, Python, Spring, Hibernate) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, node.js)Experience with databases (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) Familiarity with using and building GitLab or Jira CI/CD automationExcellent communication and teamwork skills Education: A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline is preferred. Compensation: Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements. The projected annual compensation range for this position is $75000 - $105000 (USD).
