Launch your diesel career with a company that promotes from within!Murrey’s, a division of Waste Connections, is hiring a Preventative Maintenance Technician to support our fleet operations in Fife, Washington.This is an intermediate-level opportunity designed to grow into a Diesel Mechanic role, but it’s physically demanding — you’ll be working on garbage trucks, lifting over 50 pounds unassisted, and dealing with dirty, greasy, and sometimes unpleasant materials.Schedule:Monday to Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PMOvertime: 3–10 hours/week on averageCompensation & Perks:Base Pay: $29.00 – $30.25/hourShift Differential: +$1.50/hourCDL Premium: +$1.00/hour for CDL holdersTool Allowance: $125/monthAnnual Boot VoucherUniforms ProvidedFull Benefits Package (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), etc.)Career Growth:This is a starting position with a clear path to becoming a Diesel Mechanic. Many of our top mechanics started in this very role!Key Responsibilities:Perform preventative maintenance on garbage trucks, trailers, and heavy equipmentUse fleet maintenance software to manage service recordsConduct safety inspections and maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant shopCollaborate with drivers to identify and resolve vehicle issuesComplete repairs based on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)Qualifications:At least two years of hands-on experience performing preventative maintenance in a professional environmentBackground in commercial vehicle or diesel engine maintenance is highly desirableMust hold a valid driver’s licenseRequired to have a personal set of basic tools and a toolboxComfortable using computers and diagnostic software for troubleshooting and maintenanceBrings a strong work ethic, a positive mindset, and a willingness to learn and grow in the roleSafety-Sensitive: YESAbout Waste Connections:Waste Connections is a leading provider of solid waste and recycling services in North America, with a footprint across 44 states and 6 Canadian provinces.
