About the Role: The T&D Associate Estimator I is responsible for various tasks in developing cost estimates for transmission, distribution and substation work. The T&D Associate Estimator I will be a part of our extensive training program to help develop these skills. Company Overview Established in 1891, The L.E. Myers Co. (L.E. We are experienced in delivering reliable, high-quality infrastructure solutions to meet the growing demands of the power and utility industry. Essential FunctionsPrepare or assist in preparing complete cost estimates for assigned for transmission, distribution and substation projectsPlan and execute work while meeting customer defined submission deadlinesSchedule and attend field job walk with customer, subcontractor, and construction personnel to determine constructability requirementsAttend on site pre-bid meetings and perform job site visits. This involves travel that can require overnight staysPerform or assist in performing take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparationSolicit material vendor pricing and subcontractor proposals including assembly and distribution of project documentation into RFQ/RFP packagesCompare various project documents for accuracy and consistencyParticipate in estimate review process with internal and external stake holdersAssist construction personnel throughout the project lifecycle in tracking and understanding basis of cost estimateAssist in the preparation and submission of change ordersParticipate in job close-out meetings at the end of a project to close any loops in the estimating processRegular and predictable attendanceOther duties as assignedEssential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field locationUnderstand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards About You: QualificationsAbility to understand, and/or possess basic knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services preferredExperience in electrical construction preferredExperience with estimating in construction preferredPreferred EducationHigh school diploma or GED is requiredKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesProficient in Microsoft applications with emphasis on ExcelExcellent analytical and organizational skillsGood communication skills, including verbal, and writtenAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities as necessaryAbility to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitudeAbility to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team playerAbility to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and othersStrong problem-solving skillsOrganizational skills What We Offer: Compensation & Benefits Salary commensurate with experience, paid weekly via direct deposit.Comprehensive benefits package - Medical, Dental, Vision, Teledoc, Hearing, Prescriptions, Mental Health, Employee Assistance Plan (EAP), Short Term Disability, Retiree Coverage, and Life Insurance under LINECo – (Low deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums) - Fifteen Dollar weekly premium for employee or employee plus family coverage.ThrivePass Health & Wellness Reimbursement Program - Twelve hundred dollars annually for health and wellbeing-related purchases.Annual Paid Time Off starting at 15 days plus 10 paid Holidays (our Cultural Celebration Day is a floating holiday).Generous 401(k) Plan with 100% match up to 6%; immediate vesting, and Annual profit-sharing potential.Superior educational assistance program (support for educational costs, internal training, and more!). ​​​​​​​Company-paid short and long-term disability, life, and accidental death & dismemberment.Company-paid business travel accident insurance.Various voluntary plans available including supplemental vision, accident and critical illness, ID theft, group legal, group auto & home, and additional voluntary life insurance plans for employee and dependents. Position may be subject to pre-employment screening, which may include background check and drug testing.
