Position: Account RepresentativePay: $53,000Schedule: 8am-5pm/ VariableJob Description:Forward Air is looking for a capable and dedicated individual to work as an Account Representative. The qualified candidate will coordinate all activities of administrators and other support personnel. The Account Representative will provide planning for, direction to, and will control available resources associated with the timely, damage-free, and safe pickup/delivery of freight on assigned shifts. In addition, the representative will provide administrator training, performance feedback, and provide disciplinary recommendations to the manager when necessary. Previous experience with pickup and delivery operations is a plus.Core Responsibilities & Duties:Ensure all work is performed according to Forward Air approved procedures, standards, and specificationsDirectly supervise all activities of administrators engaged in securing, monitoring, and communicating about customer shipmentsAccrue vendor costs and work to resolve any variancesAssign job tasks to administrators according to schedulesProvide guidance to team members on goals and objectives on a weekly basisCoordinate work assignments, monitor performance, and provide training on relevant job dutiesEnsure all duties are adequately covered and provide coverage when necessaryOther duties as assignedRequirements:Three (3) years freight shipping operations or account management experience preferredHave strong time management skills and the ability to work well under pressureAbility to drive performance of team membersMust possess demonstrated leadership abilityStrong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environmentMust be willing to work a flexible scheduleSkills:Ideal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethicAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of operationGeneral computer skills - Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.Excellent communication and problem-solving skillsTeam orientedForward Air is an Equal Opportunity employer.Since 1990, Forward Air has been a leading provider of ground transportation and related logistics services to the North American air freight and expedited LTL market.
