The Accounts Payable (AP) Analyst is a key member of the team supporting consolidation and reporting of monthly results and analysis requested from leadership.  Thies role supports financial operations by maintaining strong internal control, resolving discrepancies, and providing analytical insight into AP activities.  The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare AP schedules and accruals for month-end reportingPerform day-to-day accounting duties including but not limited to: posting journal entries, create vendor change form, vendor change confirmations, and/or other assigned tasksSupport annual financial audits by providing schedules and documentationEnsure compliance with internal controls and financial regulationsMaintain and update AP procedures and documentationClose communication with business partners (Finance, Supply Chain, Commercial)Work both independently and in groups in a variety of situations requiring analytical-interpretive, evaluative, and constructive thinkingProvide cross-functional support by serving as a back-up for other Accounts Payable team members during absences or peak periodsAssist with AP system implementations or upgrades (ERP, OCR, workflow tools)Required QualificationsAssociate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or other Finance related major is required; Bachelor’s preferred1-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or related account function (preferred)Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and AP processesExperience with ERP Systems (SAP, JDE, Sage, etc.) (preferred)Proficiency in Excel and with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Access, Word, PowerPoint)Solid analytical insight, prioritization, and problem-solving skillsStrong oral, written, and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated, action-oriented individual with the perseverance to meet deadlinesDeveloped time management and priority setting skills required to work in an often ambiguous and constantly changing business environmentBusiness Analytics tool experience a plus (Power Bi)Preferred QualificationsExperience with automated AP workflow systems or OCR ToolsKnowledge of 1099 preparation and IRS complianceExperience in large corporate or shared services environmentLearn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives: Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
