In this leadership role, you"ll be responsible for safely managing drill crews, operating HDD equipment, and ensuring job sites are executed efficiently and according to spec. Learn more at Key Responsibilities Operate HDD equipment to install fiber optics and other underground utilitiesLead drill crews to hit daily and weekly production targetsRead and interpret utility maps, blueprints, and drill profilesIdentify and locate underground utilities using electronic locators and safe digging practicesMix, manage, and adjust drilling fluids as needed for ground conditionsMonitor bore path, drill head, and equipment to maintain proper depth, speed, and alignmentPull conduit, cable, and fiber using safe back ream proceduresSupervise site setup, potholing, and restoration (grading, seeding, cleanup)Perform daily inspections, maintenance, and safety checks on equipmentComplete daily reports documenting work, equipment use, and safety complianceCommunicate with project managers and stakeholders to stay aligned on timelinesEnsure all OSHA, company, and customer safety protocols are followed Qualifications Minimum 5 years of HDD experience, with 2+ years in a Foreman roleProven team leadership skills with the ability to drive production without sacrificing safetyStrong knowledge of HDD operations, utility locating, mud mixing, and strike preventionProficiency with HDD guidance systems and understanding of drill logsExperience operating heavy equipment (e.g., skid steers, excavators, backhoes)Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specsClass A CDL requiredValid driver's license and clean driving recordMust pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug screeningAble to lift 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks in all weatherWilling to travel 75%+ for regional project needs Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife and Disability Insurance OptionsHealth Savings Account (HSA)401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time Off and Paid HolidaysWeekly Pay CycleCompany Events and Team Building ActivitiesOngoing Professional Development and Training Opportunities Schedule Full-Time, Monday–Friday10–12 hour shifts typicalNights and weekends as needed depending on projectOvertime opportunities available Work Location Based in Indianapolis, INField-based with frequent travel to regional and out-of-town job sites Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
