Software Developer II

We are seeking a detail-oriented candidate with knowledge and experience working with avionics systems, components, and software. This position is located at NAVAIR Station Pax River in St. Mary's County, MD and requires daily on-site presence.  Travel: NA Clearance: An Interim Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance. Requirements: Must have at least two years’ experience:Developing software in C++Working in a Linux environmentUsing Jira and ConfluenceWorking with Git, Bitbucket, or MattermostPerforming unit testingCommunicating effectively with software program leaders, engineers/developers, and stakeholdersPerforming and managing software engineering and development effortsWorking with software requirements, design, process management, open architecture principles, integration, and test Responsibilities: Develop code supporting aircraft system softwareInterface with Naval Air Station Patuxent River headquarters, contractor personnel, and other government activities for the programConduct technical reviews to determine acceptability of changes to softwareAdvise on technical issuesMonitor research, analysis, design, development, test, and manufacturing operationsProvide technical oversight into the Program Increment (PI) priority workloadsReview and provide technical inputs on proposed changes to processes and software development plansFunction as a member of an integrated team Preferred Skills and Experience: Ideal candidates have:Experience using Cameo and DOORSExperience with RHEL 9 or 10Knowledge of AIDAFamiliarity with Weapon System Open Architecture (WOSA) and MIL-STD-1553Experience with Agile development methodologies Education: BS in Engineering Field (Computer Science, Data Science or Operations Research Preferred) Compensation: Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements. The projected annual compensation range for this position is $79,000 - $120,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
