Headquartered in Austin, TX, DFS has a significant technology development and manufacturing presence worldwide, including facilities in Brazil, China, India, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States. The Quality Engineer will assist with support and maintenance of the quality system, take the lead in continuous improvement initiatives, and drive quality improvement in a Lean culture.   Required Skills:Assist Quality manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining various aspects of the quality management systemAnalyze process and product failures using the 8D RCCA/PDCA methodology and drive corrective and preventive action as neededInvolvement in continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen, Defect Reduction Teams, etc.Develop training as applicable to build quality awarenessInterface with Engineering and Production to ensure that the transfer of new products to Production is in accordance with approved data, and that existing products and processes are maintained and improvedSupport Quality Inspectors and Quality Technicians to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the customer or quality management systemConduct audits and create audit finding reports and assign and follow up for proper corrective and preventive actionsGenerate assembly process SOPs and QA/QC checksAssist with the development and implementation of SPC for applicable processesCreate and maintain company quality procedures and related documentationAssist with the planning, organizing, and managing the overall aspects of receiving, in-process, and outgoing qualityInterface with suppliers as needed to ensure the timely resolution of supplier quality issuesDevelop and maintain an adequate defect data collection and reporting system to allow drill down to true root causePrepare QA Reports and drive quality improvement in daily work cell meetingsStrong communication skills, both written and verbal Strong leadership skills and ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision Required Experience:Quality Engineering Skills and Qualifications:Analyzing Information , Reporting Results, Technical Understanding, Promoting Process Improvement and Problem Solving, Developing Standards, Supporting Processes, Developing Manufacturing and Test Methods and Procedures. Degree/Experience Requirements:BS degree or a minimum of 1-5 years experience in the Quality Engineering fieldKnowledge of inspection methods used in design, fabrication, and production in a machining and fiberglass manufacturing environment is preferred Work Arrangement : OnsitePay Range: $72,000.00 - $82,000.00  We consider several job-related, non-discriminatory factors when determining the pay rate for a position, including, but not limited to, the position’s responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, a candidate’s education/training, the position’s location, and the key skills needed for the position.  Pay is one of the Total Rewards that we provide to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Benefits: Benefits for this position include:  a 401(k) savings plan with employer contributions; medical, dental and vision insurance; wellness programs; health savings account, health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts; company paid short-term disability and long-term disability; company paid employee basic life and AD&D insurance; supplemental employee and dependent life insurance; optional accident, hospital indemnity and critical illness insurance; adoption, surrogacy, and fertility benefits and assistance; commuter benefits; parental, military, jury duty, and bereavement leaves of absence; paid time off, including business travel services; employee discounts; and an employee assistance program that includes company paid counseling sessions and legal services.
