The Assistant General Manager/ Front Of House Manager of Hershey Inn & Suites is responsible for assisting the General Manager in overseeing the comprehensive operation, performance, and financial viability of the hotel. This involves guaranteeing outstanding guest experiences and upholding brand standards. This role provides support to all departments, with a particular emphasis on Front Office and Food & Beverage operations, and is responsible for implementing strategies to attain business objectives. Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job): Assist the General Manager in overseeing all hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage services.* Direct oversight in supervising the day-to-day service operations of Front Desk, Night Audit and Food & Beverage.* Participate in the hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, and evaluating of the Front Office and Food & Beverage team.* Manage and lead a team of hotel employees to uphold company standards of service and hospitality.* Effectively use/manage the property management system (PMS) to manage Rooms and Food & Beverage inventory. Maximize room revenue and occupancy by working with the Front of House.* Implement and maintain security and safety procedures for guests and employees.* Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and adherence to quality standards.* Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and the local community.* Stay informed of industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for improvement.* Conduct and record weekly, end-of-month, and quarterly inventory on assigned department supplies. Oversee the ordering and receiving of such supplies to maintain appropriate inventory PAR levels necessary for efficient operations; Adhere to HE&R Finance SOPs regarding Purchase Orders, Invoicing, and checkbook accounting. * Ensure compliance with Department and HE&R operational policies and procedures as well as corporate Risk Management standards (MSDS, HazCom, OSHA, etc.) relating to the department. Maintaining retention records to HE&R standards. * Assist the General Manager in creating the yearly operational budgets to include labor, expenses, capital, and R&M projects.* Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Post-Employment - Must obtain Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP) Certification. Must have a valid driver's license. Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in hotel management. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must possess strong interpersonal relationship skills, be team-focused, and be able to work well with other employees and guests. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to deliver guest recovery. Strong ability to lead, guide, and develop employees through sound leadership and management skills. Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills and ability to follow through on details and planning. Strong knowledge of computer software, including Property Management Software, Microsoft Office applications, and experience using a payroll system.
