This role involves working with complex data models and SQL scripts to ensure data integrity and performance.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Data Engineer for a full-time, salaried opportunity that is hybrid (3 days/week onsite) in Wilmington, DE. The selected candidate will have a deep experience with data warehousing, Oracle databases, and retrieving/manipulating the housed data using ETL processing and complex SQL. The candidate should have a proven track record of building Data Marts following the Inmon data warehousing principles. The candidate should be able to quickly come up to speed on a complex database model, a database star schema architecture, and immediately contribute to building Data Marts, development and/or support of complex SQL needs, business-requested reporting, extracts, loads, stored procedures, interfaces, and ETL workWhat You’ll DoEngineer and build Data MartCreate, maintain, and tune complex SQL scriptsCreate and maintain existing SQL based custom reportsMaintain complex data modelsCreate and maintain data interfaces (scripted ETL) between our on-premise  Oracle environment and MS SQL Server on the Azure based platformBuild and maintain Oracle Data Marts and associated ETL processes. Ability to hard code ETL in native SQLUtilize advanced experience in Oracle SQL Loader to load data from files into Oracle databasesImport / Export data from SQL Server/Oracle XML and CLOB Queries and convert data to standard Oracle tablesPerform XML queries and build XML to Relational data models and ETLWhat You’ll NeedRequired:7 years of experience as a Data EngineerBS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subjectIn-depth working knowledge with Inmon data warehousing principles and business intelligence data architectureIn-depth familiarity with Data Modeling Normal Forms, Diagramming, Fact and Dimension modeling, Inmon conceptsBasic level of Oracle knowledge required - database files, table spaces and performance challenges specific to data warehousingExtensive experience in all aspects of Oracle SQL programming and query manipulationExperience working with MS SQL Server databasesExtensive experience working with large sets of data and resolving data[1]oriented issuesProficient in both MS Word and Excel. Ability to produce presentation level documents in MS Word, and pivot tables presentations in ExcelExtensive experience with data profiling and data quality assurance. This includes the understanding of creating an audit trail for peer review of work completedIndustry experiences supporting accounting a must.
