Position Summary: The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for managing, directing, and monitoring all operational functions associated with daily operations of Revenue Cycle Management. These functions will include managing the billing and follow-up activities of third-party payers in a high volume multihospital health system (with gross revenues in excess of three billion dollars) consisting of both teaching and community facilities. The Receivable Manager must be well versed in federal and state payer guidelines to ensure compliant billing practices are met. The Manager will lead, develop and mentor staff in meeting expected performance metrics. In addition, this role will manage staff using the department's operational policies, guidelines and code of ethical standards which include respect, diversity and integrity. Location: Remote Our organization is registered for the following states only: MD, VA, DC, FL, PA, and DE. To be considered, relocation is required to one of the registered states if not currently residing in one. HOURS: Full time (40 hours) 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. No weekends REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Health Administration, Finance, or related field or 15 years of direct management experience in hospital receivables within an academic health system. Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or Information Management is preferred. A minimum of seven years of progressive financial, hospital receivables management, and Patient Accounting System(s) experience within a medical center or health system. A minimum of four years of direct management experience. Required Licensure Certification, etc. None Knowledge: Requires knowledge of up to date HIPAA and HITECH rules and regulations. Requires knowledge of standard billing documents/files such as a UB04 form, 1500 form, ANSI 837 file and ANSI 835 file. Requires detailed knowledge of third party billing and collection processes so that the appropriate patient complaint investigations can be conducted. Requires up to date knowledge of Federal legislation such as: Fair Debt Collection practices, Medicare billing requirements, Fraud and Abuse rulings, etc. Requires knowledge of healthcare billing and reimbursement concepts, including familiarity with the Maryland reimbursement and regulatory environment.
