Job DescriptionAramark is currently seeking an Event Manager to support the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, IN! The Event Manager is responsible for overseeing event planning and coordination between clients and building services, primarily in the Expo Center and Meeting Rooms. Job ResponsibilitiesCoordinate activities with promoters, exhibitors, vendors and other external and internal departments for all tradeshows and consumer eventsCoordinate activities with private event clients for planning and logistics of wedding receptions, banquets, business meetings, etc.Work irregular schedule as required to ensure proper supervision of assigned events and activitiesMaintain contact with promoters, repeat clients, vendors and other external stakeholders throughout the year to ensure a productive working relationshipDevelop detailed floor plans, room diagrams and checklists for each event in accordance with applicable building fire codes and distribute to venue departments for implementationManage billing for events, including space and equipment rental charges and other building servicesUtilize computer technology for customer relationship and event managementEnsure that spaces are ready when client arrives to set up or move-inAssist Operations department with room and tradeshow set-ups as needed.Communicates with various departmental staff members as necessary for the successful execution of events.Ensure that promoters/clients follow applicable laws, regulations and procedures for normal and safe operation of the venue.Participates in assigned operational meetings with the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum Staff.Conduct tours of spaces and consults with prospective rental clients to maximize building usageAll other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Event Services.QualificationsAt least one year of relevant work experience in event planning/coordination, logistics or venue operations.Requires an outgoing, articulate personality with well-developed verbal and written communication skills to interact with the guests, clients and vendors on a regular basisProficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel, as well as, DataCAD design softwareAdvanced computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems and programs quickly is highly recommendedDemonstrated ability to process and implement complex instructions with superior attention to detail and consideration of short-term and long-range impactsVerbal communication skills, including consulting with clients, planning operations with staff and resolving complaints from guests, both in person and on the telephoneWritten communication skills, including composing detailed notes, documentation, sales correspondence, etc.A valid driver?s license, ownership or the use of a private vehicle for business use.Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as directed for eventsAbility to make appropriate decisions in stressful/emergency situations and provide necessary guidance to building staff, promoters/clients & guests.Experience in operating forklifts, high lifts and/or other equipment a plus.
