Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experienceJob SummaryThe CAM MAS is responsible for managing prior authorizations for high-cost, infusion center and clinic-administered medications within the UCHealth system. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of authorization requests, compliance with clinical guidelines, and effective communication with clinical teams. The position plays a critical role in supporting patient access to necessary therapies while maintaining adherence to payer and regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesComplete prior authorizations for high-dollar facility-administered medications within the UCHealth system. Prioritize authorization requests based on urgency and time required for approval.Verify medication eligibility using multiple resources (FDA indications, compendia, LCDs).Collaborate with clinical pharmacists to interpret guidelines when necessary.Submit prior authorizations through portals, email, fax, or phone.Communicate effectively with clinic staff regarding required information, authorization status, and next steps.Document all communications in EPIC patient care notes professionally and accurately.Monitor fax queue for incoming requests and documentation.Identify patients eligible for Medication Assistance Programs (MAP) or co-pay assistance and refer to MAP specialists.Requirements:Certified Pharmacy TechnicianPharmacy Technician Provisional-StatePharmacy Technician-StateHigh School diploma or GED.PHATP (Pharmacy Technician Provisional) certification from State Board of Pharmacy. PHAT (Pharmacy Technician) certification from State Board of Pharmacy within 18 months of hire. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience or 1 year of experience performing prior authorizations or refill renewals.We improve lives.
