What We Offer: Location: Charlotte Orthopedic HospitalShift: 7A-7P, 3x12hrs. FT DAYS SOB: up to $15,000  The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The Registered Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey. The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures. What We're Looking For: Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. What You'll Do: Role PurposeEnsure safe, efficient, and timely patient admissions and discharges by completing assessments, education, and care coordination while supporting patient flow and unit operations. Key ResponsibilitiesAdmissionsComplete admission assessments, medication reconciliation, and documentationInitiate care plans and safety screenings (falls, skin, nutrition, pain)Verify orders and coordinate with providers and interdisciplinary teamsOrient patients and families to the unit and care expectationsTeam LeadCreating staffing assignmentsBeing aware of staffing needsEscalating issuesAssisting nurses/ CNA’s with various tasks DischargesComplete discharge education, medication reconciliation, and instructionsCoordinate follow-up appointments, services, and equipment needsEnsure prescriptions, transportation, and documentation are finalizedUse teach-back to confirm patient understandingCare CoordinationCollaborate with case management, pharmacy, therapy, and providersIdentify and escalate barriers to discharge in real timeSupport throughput goals and reduce delaysQuality and SafetyEnsure compliance with regulatory, documentation, and safety standardsMonitor for high-risk patients and escalate concerns promptlyParticipate in audits, process improvement, and unit initiativesCore CompetenciesPatient flow managementDischarge planning and patient educationClinical assessment and prioritizationTeam collaboration and problem-solvingTime management and accountabilityWork EnvironmentFast-paced acute care settingFrequent collaboration with interdisciplinary teamsDirect patient and family engagement throughout admissions and discharges
