Description Location: UCHealth Anschutz Outpt Pavilion - Aurora, CODepartment: General SurgeryFTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)Shift: Days Pay: $32.01 - $49.62 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experienceJob Summary:The RN Medical Office - General Surgery provides skilled clinical support and care coordination within a fast-paced surgical specialty practice. This role is integral to ensuring safe, efficient, and compassionate care for patients throughout the surgical continuum, from preoperative preparation through postoperative follow-up. The ideal candidate is highly organized, clinically strong, and thrives in a collaborative outpatient surgical environment focused on excellence, efficiency, and patient-centered care.Key Responsibilities:Provide comprehensive nursing support to general surgeons and advanced practice providers in an outpatient medical office settingConduct preoperative and postoperative patient assessments, including education, triage, and care planningCoordinate surgical scheduling, pre-admission testing, and follow-up care to ensure seamless patient transitionsManage clinical communications, including patient calls, messages, and review of test results in collaboration with the care teamAssist with minor procedures, wound care, and postoperative management in accordance with clinical protocolsPerform medication reconciliation, documentation, and patient education related to surgical care plansEnsure compliance with clinical standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirementsSupport clinic workflow optimization, patient throughput, and a positive patient experienceCollaborate with multidisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality, coordinated surgical care Requirements:Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant certification as determined at position level. Minimum Experience: 6 months of nursing experience.BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
