Job Description

Senior Manufacturing Engineer Emerging from MIT, Poly6 is an exciting, innovative manufacturing company that specializes in the development and production of advanced additive manufacturing and ceramic components for aerospace turbomachinery. We deliver high-performance products that meet the rigorous demands of quality, durability, and precision required for next-generation turbine engines while helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions. At Poly6, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a highly talented team to solve problems in one of the world’s most complex engineering sectors: aviation. What we Offer:   Weekly Pay for Hourly Employees Comprehensive Benefit Plans Quarterly Bonus Opportunity 401k with Company Match Emphasis on Employee Engagement Paid Holidays and Vacation Time Tuition Reimbursement Opportunities for Advancement Position Overview: Poly6 is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development, industrialization, and scale-up of front-end manufacturing processes — including printing, die cleaning, drying, post-cure, and injection. This role owns the earliest and most sensitive steps of production, establishing the material, dimensional, and process stability that drives downstream yield. Because front-end manufacturing is the bridge between R&D and high-volume production, this position carries a strong emphasis on process development, experimentation, and early-stage industrialization. The engineer will work closely with R&D, production, quality, tooling, and automation teams to translate new technologies into reliable, scalable operations. Key Responsibilities: Process Ownership & Technical Leadership Own daily engineering support for printing, die cleaning, drying/post-cure, and injection operations. Establish and maintain process windows, control limits, and defect-prevention standards. Lead troubleshooting for upstream issues (print anomalies, fill issues, drying/cure variation, die-cleaning defects). Process Development & Industrialization Translate R&D formulations and settings into stable production processes. Lead DOEs for print parameters, cure profiles, injection settings, and drying cycles. Validate new materials, tooling, and equipment for readiness and repeatability. Throughput, Capacity & Material Flow Optimization Improve utilization of printers, dryers, post-cure ovens, and injection presses. Develop takt-based flow, staffing models, and equipment loading plans. Reduce early-stage variation to protect downstream yield. Equipment & Technology Integration Support specification, installation, and qualification of new printers, injection presses, ovens, and cleaning tools. Partner with maintenance and controls teams to improve reliability and safety. Data-Driven Problem Solving Build data pipelines for print parameters, injection profiles, and cure cycles. Apply SPC, Cpk, and statistical analysis to identify drift and drive corrective action. Create dashboards and reporting standards for front-end process health. Documentation, Standardization & Training Author process documentation: setup sheets, cure recipes, PFMEAs, and control plans. Train operators and technicians on updated processes and best practices. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work with R&D on material adjustments, printability, green strength, and cure kinetics. Align with backend engineering and quality to ensure upstream decisions support firing and final inspection performance. Safety & Compliance Ensure all front-end processes meet Poly6 safety and quality standards. Conduct risk assessments for new materials and equipment. Qualifications & Requirements: Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certificate preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing or production operations, preferably in ceramics, investment casting, or precision assembly. Demonstrated experience training or mentoring team members. Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices (5S, visual management, standard work). Other Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Clear, direct, and supportive communicator. Hands-on problem-solving and mechanical aptitude. Basic computer literacy (Excel, ERP/MES systems). Committed to safety, quality, and team development. Ability to stand for long periods and perform fine manual tasks under magnification. Regularly lift or move up to 30 lbs. Work in controlled temperature and humid environments using PPE as required. NOTE: Consolidated Precision Products is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, pregnancy, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected under applicable law. It is the policy of the company to comply with all aspects of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Upon request, the company will provide reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities who need an accommodation to fully participate in the application process. All roles are restricted to U.S. persons (U.S. citizens, permanent residents and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act) due to access to export-controlled technology. CPP will require proof of status prior to employment. Note that we maintain a drug-free workplace, and all offers of employment will be contingent on satisfactory results of a drug & background screen.  This is a full time position
