Software Engineer

Description Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer who will be a member of a dynamic team working Enroute Automation and Modernization (ERAM) maintenance and enhancements.Primary Responsibilities:Responsible for software development activities both individually and as a member of a team including writing and maintaining source code, responsible for entire projects with the technical areaActively participate in daily stand-ups, Release Planning, and other related team activitiesAnalyze and study complex system requirements, use design software tools, provide support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques and use sound software engineering principles to ensure that developed code is modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, fault tolerant, and reusableProvide software process management and control throughout the coding portion of the software development process and will promote code reuse and cross-program collaboration while reducing maintenance costs by creating common functions and shared actions for developers and testers.Engineer, author, tune and document automation scripts in a development environment and deploy to the test/production benchBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and at least 4 years of relevant experienceExperience and familiarity withObject Oriented ProgrammingC, C++, and/or Ada programming languages (Ada is desirable but optional)Real-Time Programming on High Availability SystemsMulti-threaded programmingLow Level Operating Systems (OS) Customization (RedHat), Hypervisors, and VMsCAS / Hardware IntegrationLow level communication software (TCP-IP, UDP, SCTP)System Maintenance Concepts Experience with software source control and configuration management toolsStrong understanding of sound software development principles and practicesAbility to plan and prioritize personal tasking and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writingIndependent thinker, capable of performing high quality work, both independently and with a team in a fast-moving environmentAbility to obtain SF-85Preferred QualificationsExperience using AI/ML in the software development processTest AutomationUS citizenship not requiredIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
