Product Owners are integral to the product lifecycle to bring products from concept to market. Product Owners will support our Product Management function, and work at the intersection of market demands and delivery. This role will ingest market needs and create requirements and user stories, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and design, hardware manufacturers, sales & marketing, and operations to create products that not only meet customer needs but also exceed their expectations.The position will ensure products are cost-effective, high-quality, and aligned with the company's strategic goals. This position requires a blend of creativity, technical aptitude, ability to collaborate across a variety of teams, and commercial awareness to ensure that products are innovative, and scalable.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):Drives Product Development & Lifecycle Management• Collaborates with PTLs & Product Managers to drive the creation of compelling DRS products based on intended value propositions.• Breaks down Product Management requests into functional specifications; documents requirements for hardware, software, and functional components (operations, billing, training, etc.). Advocates for the end-user throughout process. Provides critical information to development teams and communicates product goals.• Tracks realization of requirements through lifecycle of product launch. Ensures traceability through testing.• Facilities delivery of requirements to hardware manufacturers; helps ensure products align to needs (feature/fit/cost).• Develops testing approach, including internal and external validation. Partners with Product Management to align on Product Pilot approach, and drives tracking of Pilot results and any correction activities.• Partners with other key Product roles, such as CX (to ensure alignment with the intended customer experience), and Architecture (to ensure alignment on technical approach).• Partners with all other cross-functional teams to ensure launch readiness for things such as customer contracts, operational processes to support the product, billing readiness, installation and service support, etc. Looks at all that needs to be true to launch a product. Partners with project managers where appropriate to create critical path to launch.Supports Product Roadmap Execution• Partners with Product Management to execute on continual roadmap; delivers features as intended in timeline expected.• Drives hardware roadmaps with manufacturers. Provides feedback to these partners and ensures alignment for delivery.• Manages and informs the team of the product backlog.Monitors Product Performance• Analyzes product performance and makes adjustments as needed (generally using LEAN/A3 principles) with during a Product launch, or in normal lifecycle; works with varying teams to solve quality issue when needed.• Obtains inputs from Product Management regarding needs related to prior Launched products to drive continuous improvements.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE• Bachelor's degree in Business, Product Design, Technology Engineering, or a related field.• 5+ years of experience in product development within a relevant industry.• Cross-functional leadership experience with the ability to manage across complex organizational structures, with multiple projects in flight.• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to inspire, influence, and collaborate across functions and geographies.• Creative and innovative mindset, with the ability to deliver on timelines and to think creatively to solve problems.• Knowledge of manufacturing processes is a plus.
