NIGHT SHIPPING MANAGER – Foodservice Distribution (Night Shift)On-site | Hyattsville, MDFull-time | Nights & Partial Weekend | On-SiteCompensation: $60,000–$75,000 About the RoleA well-established and growing foodservice distribution company is seeking a Night Shipping Manager to support overnight warehouse shipping operations at its multi-temperature distribution facility in Landover, Maryland.This role is ideal for a hands-on, high-energy leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take the next step in warehouse management. Reporting directly to the Night Operations Manager, you will lead hourly shipping teams and ensure accurate, on-time outbound fulfillment across ambient, refrigerated, and frozen product zones.The Night Shipping Manager will play a key role in maintaining service performance, driving team accountability, and ensuring that nightly shipping goals are achieved safely and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate nightly outbound shipping operations to ensure accurate and on-time order fulfillmentLead, coach, and motivate a team of hourly associates to meet productivity and performance goalsManage daily execution across shipping, staging, loading, and order accuracy processesMonitor key operational metrics, including labor efficiency, throughput, safety performance, and shipping accuracyEnsure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards (HACCP, FSMA)Partner with Transportation, Inventory Control, Maintenance, HR, and Safety teams to resolve operational issues and support business objectivesIdentify workflow bottlenecks and implement process improvements to strengthen productivity and consistencySupport staffing, onboarding, training, and performance management for shipping associatesMaintain strong floor presence and lead by example during high-volume operational periodsQualificationsRequired2+ years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, logistics, or shipping leadership roleExperience managing employee performance, productivity, and attendanceAbility to lead teams in a high-volume environment with strict deadlinesComfort working with performance metrics and operational KPIsStrong communication and problem-solving skillsWillingness to work nights and partial weekendsAbility to work in a multi-temperature distribution facility (ambient, refrigerated, frozen)PreferredBachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or related fieldExperience in foodservice distribution, grocery distribution, or cold storage environmentsFamiliarity with WMS systems, shipping documentation, and warehouse workflow processesExposure to Lean, continuous improvement, or process improvement methodologiesExperience supporting operational growth, process changes, or shift expansionsWhy Join UsThis is a strong opportunity for a motivated warehouse leader to step into a key overnight shipping management role within a growing distribution organization.
