New grads will have 6 months to pass registry.Experience with adult echocardiography techniquesStrong patient communication skills What We're Looking For: Education: High School or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate from a formal Cardiovascular Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, preferred.Experience: One year experience, preferred.Licensure/Certification: Registered Cardiac Sonographer, credentials RDCS or RCS (New Graduates will have 6 months to pass registry), required.Additional Skills/Requirements (required):Ability to effectively operate sonographic equipment.Ability to evaluate echocardiogram in order to acquire appropriate diagnostic information.Ability to shift workload to meet patient needs.Ability to use independent judgment to acquire the optimum echocardiogram information in each examination performed.Ability to follow established departmental procedures.Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations.Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of echocardiography interpretation, echocardiography skills, and considerable echocardiography abilities.Communication skills and sensitivity to patient needs.Ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. What You'll Do: The Cardiac Sonographer I is responsible for daily operations of the echo lab, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality improvement. The sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the anatomy and pathology. The sonographer is proficient in performing basic transthoracic echoes and transesophageal echoes. The sonographer should have knowledge in diagnostic digital images and hemodynamic data for physician interpretation. Work closely with Cardiologist to obtain optimal echocardiography quality.
