This role involves providing technical support for transit scheduling systems, such as Trapeze or HASTUS, and ensuring effective provisioning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware and software, as well as related infrastructure. This role will be full time and onsite in Hyattsville, MD.What You'll DoLearn the HASTUS system to provide ongoing support to the Bus and Rail Scheduling Operations teamsReview security scan results and develop mitigation steps for vulnerabilities at the server and application levelsManage provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of computer hardware/software and infrastructureAssist and lead teams in migrating existing environments to the cloud using technologies like Azure and OCIEnsure systems adhere to agency policies, standards, and guidelinesPerform systems administration, engineering, provisioning, operations, support, maintenance, and research for continual innovationConduct daily system monitoring to verify hardware integrity, server resources, systems availability, and key processesReview system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs like backupsPerform regular security monitoring to identify potential intrusionsHandle daily backup operations and file archival/purge as neededManage user accounts, including creation, modification, and deletion upon requestProvide Tier III/other support as needed and troubleshoot issuesDiagnose and recover from hardware or software failures, while effectively communicating with stakeholdersApply OS patches and upgrades regularly, updating administrative tools/utilities as requiredConfigure and add new services as necessaryMaintain operational documentation and perform performance reporting for capacity planningWhat You'll NeedRequired:8+ years of experience managing Windows and Linux systems8+ years of experience upgrading, installing, and configuring application software and hardware8+ years of experience in troubleshooting and providing technical support for servers and networksStrong problem-solving and communication skillsExcellent organizational and time-management skillsMaster’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experiencePreferred:Expertise in cloud technologies, such as Azure and OCI, and experience migrating environments to the cloudFamiliarity with transit scheduling systems, specifically Trapeze and HASTUSPhysical DemandsAbility to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and applicable federal, state, and local standardsPrimarily sedentary work, involving sitting or remaining stationary for extended periods, with occasional movement within the office environmentAbility to perform repetitive computer‑based tasks, including use of a keyboard, mouse, and monitor#LI-KW1Reasonable accommodation statementIf you require a reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, completing any pre-employment testing, or otherwise participating in the employment selection process, please direct your inquiries to or (888) 824 – 8111.$40 - $46 per hourThe pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education.
