Position SummaryThe Dental Assistant is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of procedures performed by dental staff and assists dentist(s) in all phases of dentistry, including taking diagnostic intra-oral x-rays and completing front desk/registration duties.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist dentist(s) chair side in all phases of dentistry and manage patient behavior during treatmentOperate dental radiographic equipment for the purpose of oral radiology; taking diagnostic quality x-rays, developing, and mounting correctly as requested by the dentist(s)Follow infection control protocols as specified by professional, state and federal standardsProvide patients with oral hygiene instructions following dental proceduresPerform tasks in adherence to all OSHA and regulatory sterilization, infection control, and protective barrier guidelinesDocument treatment and patient information in dental software programRequired Skills or AbilitiesAbility to assist dentist in all phases of dentistry, and take diagnostic intra-oral x-raysStrong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skillsAbility to effectively present information to others, including other employees, community partners, and vendorsAbility to work independently with little onsite supervision, using professional judgment and diplomacyWork in a team-oriented environmentExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills and ability to effectively work with people from diverse backgrounds and to be culturally sensitiveAll wages are based on relevant years of experience. Work schedule is Monday to Friday and every other Saturday.
