Brief OverviewPhysician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, Ophthalmology Key Responsibilities:Providing comprehensive healthcare services to patients in Pediatric Ophthalmology.Obtaining comprehensive patient histories and performing physical exams for both new and return patients.Performing pre-operative, post operative and urgent Ophthalmology evaluations in the Ophthalmology clinic.Assisting with procedures both in the clinic setting and in the operating room.Participates in multidisciplinary clinics and communicate effectively with all members of the team.Ordering necessary diagnostic tests, consultations and procedures and issuing appropriate prescriptions/medications.Actively participating in Department of Ophthalmology educational meetings and conferences.Working 40 hours per week: five 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday and will rotate primarily between Boston, Waltham, and Needham. Occasional shifts at our MEEI location as needed. Minimum QualificationsEducation:A Master of Physician Assistant StudiesA Master of Science in NursingExperience:Previous OR experience is preferredPrior Ophthalmology/Pediatric experience strongly preferredNew grad PAs will be consideredLicensure/ Certifications:A current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (FNP or PNP)If a Nurse Practitioner, must also have a Surgical First Assistant certification.bchAPP The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
