About the Role: The Transmission & Distribution Estimator ensures competitiveness, profitability, and growth. The T&D Estimator is responsible for preparing cost estimates for various transmission, distribution and substation electrical construction projects by collecting and studying cost information, evaluating bid specifications and drawings, and ensuring a successful bid. Our specialized expertise, skilled workforce, and innovative practices enable us to be an industry leader supporting the clean energy transformation. Essential FunctionsComplete cost estimates for assigned projects, with definable work tasks for transmission, distribution and substation projectsDevelop complex estimates with minor errors/omissionsUtilize previous work/bidding history to establish production assumptionsTrack and compare project histories to produce up to date man hours and costPlan and execute work while meeting customer defined submission deadlinesSchedule and attend field job walk with customer, subcontractor, and construction personnel to determine constructability requirementsAttend on-site pre-bid meetings and perform job site visitsField job walks and pre-bid meeting may require job site visitsIdentify qualified suppliers/subcontractorsPerform accurate material takeoffs to supply to vendor for pricingSolicit material vendor pricing and subcontractor proposals including assembly and distribution of project documentation into RFQ/RFP packagesPrepare commercial aspects of proposals, including work plans, clarifications/exceptions, etc.Lead estimate review process with internal and external stake holdersLead the estimating team and manage bidding activitiesSupport other Estimators with bidding activities and trainingRegular and predictable attendanceOther duties as assignedEssential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field locationUnderstand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards About You: QualificationsMinimum 5 years of estimating experience in transmission and distribution industryEducationBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar field; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree, high school diploma/GED requiredKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesProficient in understanding construction and electrical drawings to accurately formulate an estimateKnowledgeable of electrical materials and methods of installationProficient in Microsoft applicationsExcellent analytical and organizational skillsStrong communication skills, including verbal, and writtenAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities as necessaryAbility to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitudeAbility to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team playerAbility to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and othersSelf-driven with the ability to stay on-task for extended periods of time while working independently What We Offer: Compensation & BenefitsSalary Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith.
