Lead MRI Tech

Overview: JOB PURPOSE: Performs and supervises modality daily operations and provides leadershiprelative to the assigned area. This position requires 70 percent patient care and 30 percentsupervisory functions. Promotes and advocates imaging services by remaining abreast of thelatest changes in technology and equipment. The Lead MRI Technologist ensuresaccreditations standards are maintained as well as performs a variety of tasks involving theoperation of MRI equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate. Responsibilities: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Coordinates patient flow and provides guidance to staff technologists2. Provides patient care3. Provides high quality images4. Performs image file management in PACS5. Directs daily departmental operations6. Oversees orientation and continuing education programs for employees7. Directs and manages personnel to include staffing schedules and annual evaluations8. Manages supplies and contains costs9. Promotes customer service excellence10. Performs all accreditation responsibilities required by the American College of Radiology11. Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imagingequipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested. Qualifications: MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technologyprogram or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program. Registered as an MRItechnologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. ARRT (MR)MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 3-years of technical experience.MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Registered by the AmericanRegistry of Radiologic Technologists with certification in MRI.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:BLS CertifiedEvidence of leadership, critical problem-solving skills, prioritization, and decision-makingskills.
