This role assists with scheduling, technician supervision, customer communication, quality control, and financial performance of the service department. The Assistant Service Manager helps ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably while maintaining strong customer relationships and high service standards.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in managing day-to-day operations of the commercial electrical service departmentSupport scheduling and dispatching of service technicians to meet customer needsProvide technical guidance and problem-solving support to field techniciansReview service tickets, job costs, and ensure accurate billing and documentationMonitor job performance to ensure quality, safety, and code complianceAssist in developing and maintaining customer relationshipsParticipate in estimating small service projects and change ordersHelp manage inventory, tools, and service vehiclesEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations and electrical safety standardsSupport recruitment, training, and performance management of service techniciansTrack service metrics, productivity, and departmental KPIsQualifications5+ years of commercial electrical experience, with prior leadership or supervisory experience preferredJourneyman or Master Electrician license Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, NEC codes, and safety standardsExperience in service operations, scheduling, and job cost managementAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentsStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsProficiency in service management or dispatch software preferredAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentValid driver’s license with clean driving recordBenefits:Competitive salary based on experience.Health, dental, and vision insurance.Paid time off and holiday pay.Opportunities for professional development and certification assistance.Equal Employment Opportunity:Upchurch Companies provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants.
