LSAC's mission is to advance law and justice by promoting access, equity, and fairness in law school admission and supporting the learning journey from prelaw through practice. Pay rate: $19 to $21/hr, depending on experience The Mailing Assistant is responsible for shipping and receiving incoming and outgoing mail and packages. Works closely with print operators to maintain inventory and package completed print jobs. Works with the Mail and Print operations team on test shipping and receiving. Assists in all aspects of the Mail Center's work to meet the company's needs. Essential Job Functions Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. The individual employed in this position will be required to: Efficiently performs all operations of the Mail Center to include the preparation of mail, receiving, processing, delivering, publication order fulfillment, warehousing, transportation needs, packing and shipping of materials and supplies when needed. Prepares and sorts incoming mail and packages and is responsible for the distribution of mail and packages to the appropriate areas or shipping to employees utilizing UPS Trackpad to assign the appropriate receiver. Collects, weighs, and affixes postage or UPS labels to outgoing mail/parcels for the post office or overnight carrier by use of a variety of postal and packaging equipment. Fills publication orders and assures their timely shipping. Assists in loading, unloading, receiving, and preparing materials, which could require the use of a forklift or pallet jack. Assists in warehouse duties to include retrieval of materials, stocking of pallet racks, moving pallets or supplies, maintaining a clean warehouse and work area, and monitor inventory levels and alert if necessary. Assists internal customers at the service counter. Performs transportation duties including pick-up and delivery of mail, supplies, and materials. Make recommendations concerning possible methods for improving shipping and receiving. Reports work volume as requested to the Manager of Mail and Print operations. Delivers, retrieves, and provides office supplies and documents to internal customers either in the office or for those that work from home. Uses a variety of tracking, postal, and packaging equipment, as well as a pallet jack and forklift. Competencies Must be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Must be a quality conscious team player. Must be able to handle all physical aspects of the position and be able to lift materials up to 50 pounds safely. Once training is complete, must be able to make appropriate decisions regarding departmental procedures. Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. Holds a strong sense of accountability for both individual and team objectives. Embraces a forward-thinking mindset, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and creativity. Excellent time management, prioritization, attention to detail and organization skills. Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Ability to safely operate a forklift is a plus. At least one year of experience in an office environment including PC skills required. At least, one year of Mail Center and/or warehouse experience is required. Inventory Control knowledge is strongly preferred.
