Job Description:Accountable for performing and coordinating and scoring physiologic studies of sleep and sleep-related disorders. The incumbent provides care to patients via technology, therapeutic interventions, and coordination of care with other health care professionals.Job Specifics:Benefits Eligible: Yes (Health, Vision, & Dental Insurance, 401(K), education assistance, + many more)Shift Details: Full Time- 36 hrs week, Tuesday- FridayDepartment/Unit: Sleep- Primary Children's SLC CampusConsidering those with Registered Respiratory Therapists & RPSGT Additional Details: This position is for a daytime scoring position. Candidate will have responsibility to score sleep studies, communicate with providers and help with other daytime activities as needed.Essential FunctionsPerform overnight Polysomnographic studies, using various modes of Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) therapy interventions.Perform Home Sleep Apnea Tests (HSAT).Monitors and documents on patients undergoing physiologic studies.Monitors and tracks equipment and supplies.Completes record keeping and charting.Ability to address and solve both technical and interpersonal problems.Demonstrated communication skills.Ability to use computerized and mechanical equipment efficiently.Ability to Score Studies according to AASM guidelines.Obtain 10 Continuing Education Credits (CEC) related to sleep medicine annually.This position provides supervision, mentorship, and orientation/ongoing education of the PSG Tech and PST CPSGT.SkillsPatient Care, Safety and OutcomesClinical Sleep Health Follow Protocols Documentation Written and verbal proficiency Quality Improvement Team OrientedWork Independently Flexibility and AdaptabilityCritical Thinking and TroubleshootingMinimum QualificationsHigh School Degree or GEDBLS Certification or RQI for Healthcare ProvidersCurrent RPSGT/RST or Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) licensed in the state of practice, if requiredAvailable to work varying shifts, including night shift.Specific certifications or skills as required by facility or patient population (i.e. PALS, ACLS, NRP).Preferred QualificationsAnatomy coursesIf working in Idaho, PSGT Permit issued by the Idaho State Board of Medicine.Clinical or patient care experienceProven ability to supervise othersAvailable to work the night shift with demonstrated ability to do soDemonstrated ability to address and solve both technical and interpersonal problemsDemonstrated communication skillsDemonstrated ability to use computerized and mechanical equipmentOngoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
