If you have data classification frameworks, lifecycle management expertise, and information governance experience and are looking for your next career move, apply now.Job DescriptionWe are looking for an Information Management Program Specialist to design, build, and operationalize a formal Information Management Program from the ground up. This position will be Full-Time and Onsite in Boise, ID for a 6-month contract.This position will start on June 1, 2026.Only work authorizations not requiring sponsorship now or in the future will be considered.What You’ll DoDevelop and implement a formal Information Management Program, including all supporting policies, procedures, and standardsConduct a comprehensive formal inventory of our client's data assets, with a focus on Personally Identifiable Information (PII), financial data, and other sensitive categoriesDevelop and manage a data classification framework defining categories, sensitivity levels, labeling standards, and handling requirementsEstablish and document data storage standards, including location requirements, access restrictions, and security controlsDevelop and implement an Information Retention Program in alignment with Idaho state records laws and our client's internal requirementsIdentify, evaluate, and recommend manual or automated tools and processes to enforce retention schedules and facilitate the identification and purging of expired dataImplement and maintain the records retention policy; develop a practical reference guide for staff on applying the retention programEstablish data disposal standards and procedures, including secure email handling, removable media management, and end-of-life data destructionIdentify information management risks following program implementation; develop a risk register and recommend mitigation stepsWork closely with client's business units to understand their data workflows and ensure policies are operationally viablePartner with client's training department to develop and deliver training on data classification, data handling best practices, and the new information management programManage the full data lifecycle process and document all program components for long-term sustainabilityTransition all program materials, tooling configurations, and knowledge to client staff upon conclusion of the engagementWhat You'll NeedRequired:3-5 years demonstrated experience developing and implementing information management or records management programsStrong knowledge of data classification frameworks, data lifecycle management, and information governance best practicesExperience with data retention requirements under state or government regulationsFamiliarity with PII and sensitive financial data handling requirements and best practicesExperience conducting formal data inventories across complex organizationsKnowledge of automated data retention and records management tools and platformsStrong written communication and policy development skillsAbility to work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical business stakeholdersExperience developing and delivering staff training on information management topicsGovernment or public sector experience preferredPreferred:Certified Information Professional (CIP) or Certified Records Manager (CRM).Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) or equivalent.CGEIT, CRISC, or related information governance credentials a plus.Physical DemandsAbility to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standardsAbility to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitorMust be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in personSedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings#LI-JH1Reasonable accommodation statementIf you require a reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, completing any pre-employment testing, or otherwise participating in the employment selection process, please direct your inquiries to or (888) 824 – 8111.$42.00 - $47.00 per hourThe pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education.
