Maintenance Mechanic (Handyman)

Brooklyn Center is now hiring a Maintenance Technician (Handyman) to join our Skilled Nursing Facility!We’re looking for a dependable and skilled individual to help maintain a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for our residents and staff.Compensation:Rate is based on experience, skills, and possession of an FDNY Certificate of Fitness (COF)DUTIES:·        Assist with regular facility & equipment inspections for safety, upkeep, and appearance.·        Responding to maintenance requests by Staff & Residents.·        Repairing and maintaining vacated rooms in a timely manner.·        Be available for emergency troubleshooting & repairs of equipment.·        Ensure that all equipment is clean and in working condition at all times.·        Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:·        Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry & general maintenance.·        Min. high school diploma or equivalent.·        Strong work ethic and ability to take initiative.·        Ability to multitask/stay on task & maintain focus in stressful situations.·        Ability to work effectively individually and as a team member.·        Drivers Licensed Preferred·        Must be on call every other weekend.About us:Brooklyn Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare is a state-of-the-art 281-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility located in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn.
