If you have strong Linux System Administrator experience and are looking for your next career move, apply now.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Linux System Administrator to support and manage Linux environments, including software deployment, system maintenance, and cybersecurity measures. This position will be Full-Time and Onsite, with employees expected to work onsite 5 days per week. This is a 35-hour work week.Only work authorizations that will not require sponsorship now or in the future will be considered.What You’ll Do Set up, upgrade, configure, and manage automated patching for Linux servers and VMs using Uyuni infrastructure and configuration management platformsMaintain a schedule to patch all Linux servers and VMsMonitor application and server availability and proactively address issuesPlan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardwareImplement upgrades and technology application installs as neededRecommend and implement changes to improve system and network configurationsPerform data backups, restores, and disaster recovery operationsMaintain and review logs related to network, application, and system functionsPerform routine network and system startup and shutdown procedures and maintain internal controlsCoordinate with the IT team to minimize downtime and align patching schedules with broader IT strategiesDesign, configure, test, and maintain computer hardware, networking software, and operating systems softwareBe on call 24/7 to address critical IT needsPerform other duties as assigned by managementWhat You'll NeedRequired:Bachelor’s degree in computer science (advanced degree is a plus)4-6 years of experience in Linux System Administrator support2-4 years of general desktop/network/hardware and software support experienceStrong ability to maintain and support Linux environments (SUSE, CentOS, Red Hat)Proven experience managing Red Hat Satellite Server for automated patching, updates, and content managementAbility to evaluate and implement alternative automated patching systems for improved efficiency, cost savings, and securityExpertise in implementing robust monitoring solutions for Linux VMsResponsible for maintaining detailed documentation of patching processes, configurations, and customizationsProven ability to create a collaborative working environment with business, vendor, and technical resourcesStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and with groups, with limited supervisionPreferred:Knowledge of technologies such as SaltStack for configuration management and orchestration, Spacewalk for Linux systems managementProficiency in scripting languages like Bash and Python for automationCybersecurity experience including virus and ransomware detection and mitigationKnowledge of security aspects like networking, access control, firewalls, disaster prevention/recovery, and data encryptionProficiency in API interactions and XML-RPC for integration and automationFamiliarity with software licensingDatabase administration experiencePhysical Demands Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards.Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person.Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.#LI-NA1Reasonable accommodation statementIf you require a reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, completing any pre-employment testing, or otherwise participating in the employment selection process, please direct your inquiries to or (888) 824 – 8111.$52.00 - $57.00 per hourThe pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education.
