We offer end-to-end solutions—from design and installation to ongoing maintenance and emergency support—helping clients maximize building performance, energy efficiency, and equipment lifespan.Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the accounting operations of Moses Electric LLC and affiliated entities under Upchurch Holdings.This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally with project managers, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesMonth-End ClosePrepare and record journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and intercompany transactionsPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies timelyAssist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesMaintain supporting documentation for audit readinessGeneral Ledger & Account ReconciliationsMaintain general ledger accuracy and integrityReconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany accountsInvestigate and resolve accounting variancesProcess Improvement & ControlsAssist in developing and improving accounting procedures and internal controlsSupport system integrations between BuildOps and Sage IntacctIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracyAudit & ComplianceAssist with external audit requests and provide supporting schedulesEnsure compliance with GAAP and company policiesMaintain proper documentation for financial transactionsPayroll AccountingPrepare and post all routine and non-routine payroll journal entries (gross pay, taxes, benefits, employer contributions, and labor allocations as applicable) each pay periodReconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts monthly (wages payable, payroll tax liabilities, benefits, retirement contributions, garnishments), ensuring amounts agree to payroll reports and cash activityReview payroll registers and funding reports for reasonableness and proper coding, and work with HR/payroll to research and resolve discrepanciesQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting3–5 years of accounting experienceStrong knowledge of GAAPExperience with general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reportingStrong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience with Sage Intacct and/or BuildOps (preferred)Skills & CompetenciesStrong attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesStrong organizational skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work independently and proactively#LI-UPCHURCH1Benefits:Competitive salary based on experience.Health, dental, and vision insurance.Paid time off and holiday pay.Opportunities for professional development and certification assistance.Equal Employment Opportunity:Upchurch Companies provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants.
