Job SummaryUnder direct supervision of the Senior Technician or Department Manager of Sterile Processing, carries out the operations of sterile processing and will be proficient with all job duties assigned to this position.Core Job ResponsibilitiesCarries out Standard Precautions at all times.  Performs all phases of decontamination: instruments, carts and equipment (commodes, Imeds, Isolation Carts, wheelchairs, stretchers, etc.)Operates the washer-decontaminator, cart wash and the steam gun.Performs all phases of inspecting and assembling instruments for the OR, CTOR, Cath lab, EP lab, X-ray, ER, Sleep lab and all the off-sitesOperates the sterilizers in the department (STEAM, ETO, and STERRAD).Adheres to the proper wrapping, labeling, and logging on the appropriate log sheets.Maintains accurate logs on all sterilizers.  Operates heat sealer, labeling gun and drying cabinetAccurately documents results.Adheres to the proper delinting, folding and assembling of reusable linen.  Restock hemodialysis carts, minor procedure carts, and prisma carts.Education/Experience RequirementsREQUIRED:High school diploma or equivalent   PREFERRED:1 year previous related experienceCS Tech CertificationLicensure/Certification RequirementsDisclaimerQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to their age, race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, age, gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, et al), sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, protected veteran status, or disability.
