Union Preventive Maintenance Technician

Wast Connections has an opening for a Union Preventive Maintenance Technician to work on our truck fleet in Vancouver, Washington.Schedule is Monday – Friday Shift 2 PM to 10:30 PM with overtime often; typically, 9 -10-hour shifts.Hourly Wage: $35.21/HRUnion Benefits: Full union benefits ​Responsibilities include:Completes required paperwork utilizing the fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documents parts usage, and accounts for repair times.Welding and fabrication on trailers and 48-foot containersAbility to effectively communicate and understand service schedules and/or repairsGeneral shop maintenance/cleaning duties as neededEquipment safety checksCommunicate with drivers about issues in the morning and afternoonReviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on the Driver Vehicle Inspection ReportMaintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of commercial vehicles, including yellow iron.Qualified candidates must have:Experience in commercial or similar repair field is preferred but not requiredWillingness to learn new skills and a positive attitudeDriver’s license and ability to drive for road call repairsBasic tool set and toolboxBasic computer skills and ability to learn test diagnostic laptop and softwareSAFETY SENSITIVE: YES (Drug Test Required)To be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application at .
