Hiring Immediately!Overtime EligibleAnnual boot allowanceEarn quarterly safety bonusPaid trainingStable industry, year-round employmentWeekly pay!​​Waste Connections has an opening for a Diesel Mechanic Helper to join our GROWING team at our site in Monroe, NC.Schedule: Monday - Friday/ 50 to 55 hours per week / Saturday's as needed.As a key member of our automotive maintenance team, your work as a Diesel Mechanic Apprentice will focus on the overall maintenance of equipment used by our company in the transportation and handling of vehicles. This will involve, inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, hydraulics, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.The minimum responsibilities are:Assists experienced mechanics with vehicle maintenance and repairs, learning the trade under supervision. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trucks and equipmentConduct oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and lubricationAssist with brakes inspections, fluid levels, belts, hoses, and other key componentsIdentify potential issues and report necessary repairs to the lead mechanicMaintain accurate service records and reportsKeep work areas clean and organized in compliance with safety regulationsAssist with minor repairs and support the mechanic team as neededTravel to other districts to assist with PMs and continue training.What we need from you:Mechanical aptitude, a drive to learn and grow with a team. Ability to adapt to a wide variety of environments to complete work assignmentsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsWelding/fabrication experience, a major plusReliable transportation to travel between districts as needed. What you’ll get from us:Competitive Pay & Bonuses401(K) with company match – Secure your futureComprehensive Health Benefits – Medical, Dental, VisionPaid Time Off & HolidaysCareer Growth Opportunities – We invest in your successStrong Company Culture – Teamwork, safety, and respect Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
