Southern Glazer's offers a competitive compensation package with an hourly starting pay rate of $27.00 for CDL A. In addition, $1.00 / hour paid for doubles endorsement. Line Haul CDL A Drivers are eligible for a sign-on bonus of $6,000 with $3,000 paid in 90 days and $3,000 paid in 180 days. The work schedule will begin with four 10-hour shifts starting 1:00 AM, Monday - Thursday. Starting in May the work schedule will change to Monday - Wednesday, plus OT as needed. Home daily and driver is guaranteed 40 hours per week. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately. OverviewThe Line Haul Driver Class A is responsible for delivering products from the Sioux Falls, South Dakota Depot to the warehouse/depot in Rapid City, South Dakota and return to Sioux Falls each shift. Inspect the general condition of the vehicle; unload, operate, and clean the vehicle, including following all safety precautions in accordance with SGWS and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines. Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicleAdhere to safe and courteous operation of delivery vehicle at all timesComplete all required paperwork daily, including Department of Transportation logbook and driver vehicle inspection report (DVIR)Report to work in adherence to company uniform standards (e.g., neat, clean, and properly attired)Adhere to all Safety regulations, and perform all duties in a safe mannerPlan trip logistics and obtain necessary documents to transport goodsLoad and unloaded cargo make sure safety equipment is being utilizedEnsure cargo is secured properly compliant with safety requirementsReport any incidents to dispatcherFollow/adhere to all traffic lawsMaintain vehicle, product, and equipment tidy and in good working orderPerform other related duties as assignedAdditional Primary ResponsibilitiesMinimum Qualifications1 year of experienceMust be Department of Transportation (DOT) certifiedClass A Commercial Driver s License requiredMust be at least 21 years of agePhysical DemandsPhysical demands include a considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stoopingAdditional hours may be required during October, November, and December and other peak periodsCapable of working flexible hours which could include overnight, early morning, and/or late eveningMay require lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 48lbs This position is deemed a safety-sensitive position.
