Recreation Aide

Centers Adult Day Care is actively seeking a Recreation Aide to work for our facility located in Ridgewood, NY. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with the elderly.DUTIES:Assist department staff with the implementation of activities and programs for Residents; focusing on individual interestsWork directly with Residents on unitsAssist [Recreation Director] and set up, [implement, and clean up] programs as neededOrganize and obtain supplies and equipment as requestedAssist recreation specialists & set up program areas as neededKeep daily attendance and document residents’ participation in activitiesAssist residents to program location and return residents to appropriate unitsCollaborate with Recreation Director to create/modify the recreation calendar and coordinate with outside parties to implement recreational activities. Distribute calendars.Be familiar with established emergency proceduresOther duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS:Positive attitude and energy is a must!!Experience with activities in healthcare settings or college work in recreation therapyKnowledge of APIE… [preferred]Previous experience with Geriatric population preferredBilingual English/Spanish preferredProficient computer skills necessaryKnowledge of APIE (assessment / planning / implementation / evaluating) programsAbility to work effectively as a team memberStrong organizational & planning skills; ability to multi-task
