If you have strong expertise in EDI file formats and claims processing, and are looking for your next career move, apply now.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior EDI Software Developer to support and enhance claims processing and EDI transactions for IDOH’s ACAPS system. This position will be Full-Time, On-site, and on a 3–6-month contract basis. With employees expected to work in office 5 days per week.  This position does not offer employment sponsorship. All candidates must be eligible to work without need for sponsorship by employer.What You’ll Do Review and update all documentation related to claims processing and EDI transactionsIdentify undocumented claims processing and EDI processes, and document themAct as a subject matter expert (SME) for the development team during the rewrite of IDOH’s ACAPS system in .NetAct as liaison between the OTC team and the Children’s program area for claims processing issuesCollaborate with technical and functional staff on detailed business requirements, aligning business processes and technology with project goals, agency standards, federal, and state policiesWrite technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirementsTest new and existing systems for functionality and accuracyEnsure accurate and appropriate file exchanges with external trading partners and resolve EDI data transmission conflictsProvide helpdesk-level support for EDI claim transactions, including onboarding new healthcare providers and clearinghousesWork independently with minimal guidance and collaborate with ISDH external partners as neededWhat You'll NeedRequired:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related fields with IT experienceDatabase knowledge5+ years of experience understanding EDI file formats (835, 837, 210)Knowledge of HIPAA regulationsAbility to solve complex troubleshooting issuesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPreferred:Health industry experienceKnowledge of IBM Websphere (WTX)Database/SQL experiencePhysical Demands Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standardsSedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor#LI-NA1Reasonable accommodation statementIf you require a reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, completing any pre-employment testing, or otherwise participating in the employment selection process, please direct your inquiries to or (888) 824 – 8111.$50 - $59 per hourThe pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education.
