About this Job: General Summary of PositionThe Pharmacy Technician Clinical Coordinator plays a key role in connecting healthcare providers, patients, payors, and pharmacies to ensure smooth communication and coordination across the care continuum. This position focuses on simplifying the process of patient access to prescribed medications, particularly for individuals with complex or specialized healthcare needs. Key responsibilities include supporting various aspects of clinical operations, such as benefits investigation, prior authorization, copay and financial assistance coordination, new patient onboarding, medication delivery coordination, drug replacement services, and conducting outbound calls to support prescription refills.  Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssists healthcare providers in navigation of the prior authorization and appeals process; researches documents and submits appropriate information to insurance payors; resolves issues and discrepancies and follows each through to completionFosters strong relationships with healthcare providers including physicians, nurses, pharmacists and payors to facilitate efficient communication and coordination of careProactively tracks patient refills coming due, proposes orders to providers, escalates clinical issues to a pharmacist as required, and performs outreach to patients to ensure coordination of all aspects of medication managementResearches options for copay / foundation assistance, drug replacement services, and patient financial counseling; facilitates enrollment and / or connects patients to available resourcesProactively tracks and (re)completes prior authorization and patient assistance enrollments that are due to expirePerforms patient onboarding benefits investigation, order entry and delivery coordination activitiesEnsures patients are equipped with resources (clinical/financial/educational) to maintain adherence to their medication action planMinimal QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredExperience3-4 years Pharmacy Technician experience in a retail mail order or specialty pharmacy required 1-2 years Customer service or equivalent experience preferredLicenses and CertificationsMust hold a valid pharmacy technician license or registration, as required by the state of Maryland, at the time of hireMust hold a valid nationally accredited pharmacy certification such as the PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or the ExCPT (Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians) at the time of hire This position has a hiring range of : USD $22.48 - USD $39.75 /Hr.
