Overview: GovCIO is currently hiring for an experienced and highly skilled Engineer / Solutions Architect with an active Secret clearance to provide strategic technical leadership in designing, integrating, and optimizing secure IT solutions for government systems. This position will be on-site 5 days a week in Merrifield, VA. Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, serving as a subject matter expert across multiple domainsShape and influence the organization's strategic direction through visionary planning and collaboration with stakeholdersDesign, implement, and align solution architectures with Data and Enterprise Architecture standards, ensuring compliance and modernizationLead development and documentation of formalized solution methodologies, maintain architecture repositories, and promote best practicesConduct research on emerging technologies to recommend cost-effective, flexible solutions that drive innovation across cloud, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and enterprise platformsCollaborate closely with delivery teams, project managers, vendors, and government stakeholders to estimate, plan, and oversee solution implementation and integrationModel business and system processes to provide technical artifacts such as system diagrams, detailed design documents, workflow diagrams, and project plansProvide ongoing technical guidance during solution implementation within Agile cross-functional teams, managing risks and communicating with senior leadershipReview and advise on architectural designs from other architects to ensure adherence toDrive modernization of legacy systems and align technology initiatives with mission objectives, fostering collaboration across development, product owners, and government teams Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with 12+ yrs experience with large integrated projects  Required Skills and Experience Extensive experience in developing strategic systems architectureExperience in system design and developmentExperience in system and network design and developmentAbility to produce requirement artifacts: data flow diagrams, UML modeling techniques include sequence, component, deployment and domain modelsA background in software development with ability to code at some level and knowledge of APIs and SDKsA technical architecture background with an understanding of high-level networks, routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and operating systemsStrong experience with, web servers, API gateways, cross-domain solutions, service-oriented architectures, web services (REST), microservice patterns, service buses and integration patterns, security practices used in federal spacesProven experience with databases and data storage including NoSQL and SQL databaseFamiliarity with cross-domain solution architectures, data labeling, and secure data transfer protocols.Experience working in secure environments, preferably within the DOJ, and understanding of FISMA, NIST, or RMF compliance.This individual will understand the vision and communicate technology solutions along with roadmaps to achieve modernization resultsFamiliarity with REST, Java, and ColdFusionExperience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and leading cross-functional teams.Clearance Required: Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability        #JP #bluestone  Posted Salary Range: USD $210,000.00 - USD $240,000.00 /Yr.
