Engineering Technical Writer

Overview: GovCIO is currently hiring for a Engineering Technical Writer to support modernization efforts. This position will be located in Hampton, VA at Joint Base Langley-Eustis and will be a fully onsite position. Responsibilities: We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technical Writer specializing in technical policy and compliance. You will interact with engineering teams to create and refine diagnostic procedures and documentation for use by non-engineers. You will improve editorial and visual standards for documentation and recommend new designs, layouts, and formatting as needed. This position is located at Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, Virginia.  Key ResponsibilitiesTranslate complex technical requirements into clear, concise, and user-friendly language without losing technical accuracyGenerate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutionsCollaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and regulatory teams to ensure documentation meets industry standardsAnalyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure and form documentationManage task and information flow using collaboration software such as SharePointReview and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team Qualifications: High School with 9+ years (or commensurate experience)Required Skills and ExperienceClearance: TS/SCI Strong network/systems engineering backgroundStrong understanding of engineering terminology, technical standards, and compliance frameworksCreating visual aids, flow charts, structured templates to improve comprehension and usability  Conduct periodic reviews and audits of documentation to ensure accuracy, currency, and compliance with evolving regulations Exceptional ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, actionable languageFamiliarity with controlled document management systems and version control practicesPreferred Skills and Experience Attention to detail ensuring accuracy and consistency in documentationFamiliarity with various tools and software used for technical writing Posted Salary Range: USD $90,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
