Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager at our Imlay City, Michigan facility, you will lead the 3rd shift team members in the maintenance department to ensure production lines, affiliated equipment, and facilities operate efficiently. You will schedule work and workforce to meet production demands, maintain the preventative maintenance system, and strive to exceed the plant’s safety and uptime goals. You will help establish mechanical integrity and equipment reliability programs to ensure employee safety, provide environmental security, and maximize plant availability, product quality, and cost effectiveness. You will leverage internal and external resources to provide daily direction and solutions for the workforce.A Taste of Your ResponsibilitiesTrain, motivate, and direct employees to follow safe work methods and standard procedures for efficient use of resources.Monitor downtime occurrences and production line efficiencies, identifying maintenance and mechanical trends.Maintain equipment for efficient operation within budget while adhering to union contract and USDA regulations.Drive continuous improvement in maintenance team performance and production line efficiencies.Participate in predictive and preventive maintenance activities.Evaluate PM/PDM activities and frequencies to optimize workforce and resources for maximum equipment reliability.Ensure a safe and healthy workplace by following all safety procedures and incorporating safety into every task.Foster a team concept that prioritizes personnel safety, food safety, and uptime.Follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality standards are met.Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, product quality, or personnel safety.Ensure plant leadership needs are met on shiftIngredients Required for Your SuccessHigh school diploma or GED required3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment3+ years of supervisory or leading teams experienceWorking knowledge of plant equipment and safety standardsExperience with preventive maintenance programWhat You Can Expect PhysicallyYou will be regularly required to stand, walk, and communicate throughout your shift.You may occasionally lift or move items up to 50 pounds and perform tasks involving reaching, kneeling, or crouching.You will work in an environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.You will need visual acuity for close and distance vision, color differentiation, and depth perception.Reasonable accommodation will be provided to support individuals with disabilities in performing essential job functions.Relocation assistance is available for this position.
