Together we continue to grow as the world’s leading energy company!About the roleOperational Lead, NOJVs and Third Party Assets role will provide commercial expertise, partnering with origination and trading on asset-based deals, strengthening their viability, and monitoring and influencing ongoing performance. It’s a great opportunity to develop by working in the commercial team in RPTA, while making valuable contributions to the trading and origination businesses along the way.Note: This role may require up to 15% travel annually. Key accountabilitiesWork closely with the trading benches to provide leadership for the RPTA’s portfolio of complex, asset-based deals including NOJVs, Asset-based LTCCs, credit agreements, prepays, etc. throughout their lifecycle (i.e. during assurance, pre/post launch and in execution). Act as the ‘go-to’ for any asset-based transactions within RPTAThe RPTA Major Project Advisor, provides project management expertise to maximize commercial success in a deal that relies on the third-party development and construction of assets/infrastructure.Work in conjunction with Engineering Technical Lead role and other bp SMEs (bp Solutions, Applied Sciences, etc.) to develop and execute technical support plans for NOJVs and asset-based deals, covering assurance, go-live, and execution phases.Lead cross-functional and subject matter authorities (such as HSE and bp Solutions) assurance processes to evaluate multiple facets of performance including Technology, Safety Culture, Project delivery capabilities, Operations management capabilities.Be responsible for RPTA NOJVs as the NOJV Operated Lead for RPTA to ensure they are consistently resourced and managed in line with standards and guidelines. As needed, fulfill the roles of NOJV Risk Process Owner or NOJV Asset Manager.Conduct site visits and attend Quarterly Performance Meetings to handle key commercial relationships, third-party asset performance, and support origination activities, supported by the Technical Lead as requiredOwner of central risk management for RPTA and subject matter authority for VP of RPTA and regional benchesEnsure compliance with bp internal policies and procedures (e.g., T&S Major Projects Policy, Joint Venture Management Policy).Elevate the safety & operational risk management culture within RPTA.Essential education, experience and requirementsBachelor’s degree in STEM with relevant experienceStrong experience in refinery process engineering or equivalentStrong influencing skills including partner management and relationship building within bpCapital Projects experience, either as a Project Manager or core member of a Project TeamAbility to identify and communicate complex issues and risks to Group LeadersExperience in applying risk management such as bp Policy Risk Management, 000030Preferred qualificationsChemical or mechanical engineering degree preferredRefinery production planning, midstream commercial and/or trading front office experienceProven experience in Third-Party Relationship & Contract ManagementStrong influencing and Negotiations skillsHow much do we pay (Base)? $ 126,000.00 - 180,000.00 USD AnnuallyNote that the pay listed for this position is genuinely expected and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.This position is eligible for US Benefits – Core. This position offers paid vacation depending on your years of relevant industry experience and will range from 120 – 240 hours of vacation per year for full time employees (60 - 240 hours of vacation per year for part time employees).
