The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic General Endocrinologist to join the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Position Overview The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism in the Department of Internal Medicine is actively recruiting general endocrinologists, general endocrinologists with a focus on diabetes, and an endocrinologist clinicianresearcher to join our exciting practice. The division is highly recognized in clinical and research programs in thyroid cancer, type 1, and type 2 diabetes; neuroendocrine tumors; metabolic bone disease, womens health, and other hormone conditions. This is an academic position on the clinical track that emphasizes patient care to general endocrinology patients; instructs medical students, residents, and fellows; and basic or clinical research. Division Overview The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism has been recognized for excellence by U.S. News and World Report on an ongoing basis. We are committed to excellence in clinical care, the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and discoveries to improve the care of patients with endocrine and endocrine-related disorders through laboratory and clinical research. Our division has a long history of developing novel interdisciplinary programs and has demonstrated outstanding performance in areas such as thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer, type 1 and type 2 diabetes and obesity, adrenal and pituitary disorders, and metabolic bone disease. The Division is supported by The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Wexner Medical Center, and The James Cancer Hospital. Duties and Responsibilities This is an academic position on the clinical track that emphasizes patient care to endocrine patients with a focus on thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer; instructs medical students, residents, and fellows; and basic or clinical research. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, thyroid ultrasound and fine needle aspirations, e-consults, and inpatient consults. Requirements Candidates must have an MD or DO Board Certification or Board Eligible in Endocrinology Qualify for academic appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level - Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience. Their principal career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, andor research. Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD, DO or MDPhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care. Research Faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Research faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of one to five years. Their principal career focus is research.
